My Approach
Beginning Psychotherapy
We will begin with a consultation during which I will start to get to know you as a whole person and the life trajectory that has led to where you are. You will also get a sense of me and how I work. We will then both be able to make an informed decision about whether and how psychotherapy could help you.

Process
I encourage you to share feelings, thoughts, and sensations that come to mind and body, including those that may prevent you from sharing freely. Exploring these perceptions—especially those about myself, the treatment, and our relationship—however unsavory or uncomfortable, is essential to facilitating our process.

Through the recreation of early relational dynamics in ours, transformation begins as we access unconscious impressions from childhood that are too difficult to identify without the support and framework of the analytic relationship. With tenderness, patience, and a balance of challenge, we loosen history's impact to imprint a healthier, non-exploitative, genuinely loving experience of relationship, perhaps for the first time.
Privacy
Always, your privacy is my priority. Telehealth sessions are conducted via an encrypted platform. Contact me electronically with any concerns or in a manner most comfortable.
Consent
You deserve to understand how our therapeutic relationship is structured and why. We will only work towards the focus that both of us come to explicitly understand and only in ways agreed upon. You deserve for your feedback to be integrated and receive an apology from me when repair is needed. You reserve the right to pause or end treatment at any time.
Frequency
I see clients on a weekly or more frequent basis. Typically, my patients see the most impact at twice weekly for psychodynamic therapy and three times or more weekly when participating in psychoanalytic depth therapy.
Consistent rhythm is paramount. I honor our standing meeting time as yours only. We can arrange a standing back-up time if your lifestyle requires accommodation. My cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to session or you may be subject to the full session fee, barring any illness or emergency.
